How do I request an exemption ?
Exemptions shall, if possible, by requested at the time of the first registration and no later than on the given dates.
- Exemptions for courses starting in the first semester must be requested at the latest on 15 October.
- Exemptions for courses of the second semester must be requested at the latest on the third Wednesday of the second semester.
Students who are exceptionally allowed to register after the registration deadline have to hand in their request for exemption no later than one week after receiving the permission to register.
After these dates students may no longer rely on previously obtained credit validations, other study certificates or certificates of competency to modify their individual study programme.
Exemptions will be approved at the latest together with the approval of the individual year programme.

1. Request for an exemption based on a credit validation or other study certificate (QAA)
A student who believes that he may be eligible for an exemption for a course unit or part of it on the basis of a credit validation or other study certificate, must send an application to the Field of Study timely.
For this, he must submit a completed Course Exemption Application Form with the Field of Study directly . The student must attach a supporting file, containing the previously obtained credit validations or other study certificates to this, as well as the related course descriptions for credit validations or other study certificates obtained abroad.
2. Request for an exemption based on competences already acquired via a certificate of proficiency (CAA)
A student who believes that he can claim an exemption for a course unit or part of it on the basis of previously obtained competences needs to follow the procedure CAA.
The certificate of proficiency that might be the result of this procedure has an unlimited validity.
